Meeting Minutes

Mintues for May 9, 2000 . . .
               Meeting called to order approximately 12:00 Noon.

Chuck:
Recognized a good turnout, 20 people.
Mentioned that himself, Danney, George, and Gerlovich met about the Ennes
Workshop on April 25th.
Encouraged people to go to the website and prepare to register.

Goldy:
Few frequency coordination problems with Golf Tournament in the 2GHz range
were resolved.
Baseball no problems.
Rezendez trial no problems.
Goldy was asked about the new towers being built in Missouri City and their
possible impact on frequency coordination.   Discussion about towers began.

Danney:
Encouraged members to send in their dues.
Recognized visitors:  Gerlovich welcomed Donald Chapman of Prophet Systems
and certified member of Chapter 105, David Dunivin of Clear Channel Houston,
and Tony Self of Clear Channel Houston and student member of Chapter 105.
Alex Schnieder welcomed Bob Barton and Andy Waldrop of Meto Networks.

George:
Discussed the Ennes Workshop and the need to start planning for time off,
making the GMs aware of the great training opportunity this will be so they
might fund the class, and picking a date for the Ennes Workshop.

Danney, Again :)

Discussed the Ennes Workshop:
Never had this opportunity in Houston before.
Described the history of the Ennes Workshop and the trustee structure of the
organization.
Passed out a survey to pick a day, and topics.
Asked for ideas for the location of the Ennes Workshop.
October and September are the months available to plan for the Ennes
Workshop, we prefer October.
Gave a list of some of the more popular topics being requested by Chapter
105:  DTV, MPEG, Audio and Video Delay, Data Casting, and Future of
Engineering.
Disclosed what the $49.00 cost of the course covered.
There is no direct cost to the SBE Chapter 105.
Asked if we should have some sort of pre-registration on the website, but
hesitates to have the responsibility of collecting the money.
Goldy suggested a scholarship the cover the expense of the Ennes Workshop
for those who may not be able to afford to go, but had no solution for the
criteria of the scholarship.
Described the schedule and programs for the June 17th Ennes Workshop in St.
Louis.
   (George suggested to have a dinner funded by the Chapter 105 for everyone
        after the Ennes Workshop.)
Proclaimed the need for the SBE Chapter 105 to keep current in our programs
to attract members and not focus on old or present technology.

George, Again :)
Announced the nominating committee for new Chapter 105 officers:
George Schank, Rick Jones, Fred Morton.

Closed the meeting approximately 12:45pm with "The 7-ups" by Danney Stanley:
