Minutes of SBE Chapter 105
Houston , Texas
Tuesday, July 13th, 1999
The regular monthly meeting of SBE Chapter 105 was called
to order at 12:15 by Chairman Chuck Primrose. Attention was directed
to the hard copy prints of the July newsletter displayed on the wall by
Danney Stanley, acting editor. Special notice was given to the pictures
of the Cantenna Pirate Antenna and a discussion followed.
Due to the activity involving broadcast happenings around the
Houston area many members who normally attend SBE lunch meetings
were not able to attend. In attendance were representatives from KTBU,
KSBJ, GBS, HIS Marketing, ABS, The Municipal Channel of Houston,
HISD Media Services, Price Waterhouse Cooper, Sigma and Toshiba
Representatives (that actually presented our program for the meeting).
Danney Stanley thanked all for attending and greeted guests.
In attendance for her first meeting was new member Beth Weissinger,
the chapter welcomed her. Danney also brought up a concern he has
for the good of the chapter. He briefly explained the 80/20 Rule. Where
in his own experience in marketing 80% of one's sales actually comes from
comes from 20% of your clients. He related this to our chapter membership.
Whereas, we have many members who never have any contact with our
chapter. Many probably still don't know we have this electronic
newsletter. He encouraged our chapter to find ways to reach out to them.
Chuck Primrose suggested that program meetings such as we were
having today might be one approach. Also, possibly moving the meetings
around to different parts of town would also help. Chuck also reminded
us of the special Certification Meeting to be held on July 22 @ KPRC TV.
At 12:22 the meeting was adjourned and an excellent program was
given to the chapter by Toshiba UPS Systems. Starting from the very
basic conception of what UPS Systems really do, how they work . . .
all the way up to the very complex massive UPS Systems Broadcasters
need today. Danney said he would post the Toshiba Web Page Address
for our chapter to use for those not in attendance. ( www.tic.toshiba.com)
Ray Allard, Rick Hawrylak, Jason Oscar and Mike Myers were thanked
by the chapter for the program.
