ALBERT VARGAS,  MEMBER OF THE MONTH

     Albert Vargas won the last Cap-of-the-Month given by the Chapter for 1999.

He was born in Woodland, California in June, 1948.  When he was but a child, his parents

moved to Guadalajara, Mexico.  There he studied,  obtained an engineering degree,

met and married his wife Rosa Maria.  They have 3 children which he is working on

bringing to the United States.   Rosa Maria now comes to see Albert about

every three to four months.  He is excited about his family joining him soon.

     Albert has lived in Houston since 1997.  He works with El Dorado Communications

(KQQK, KHTJ AND KEYH) .  He has worked for El Dorado since February, 1996, where

he joined them in Los Angeles.  They asked him to relocate to Houston and he quickly

accepted.  Houston is the second city in the USA where  he has lived.

      Although, while not working with engineering at the present time, he is

dedicated to the Radio World.  By age 21, he was working with several stations

in Mexico.  He grew in knowledge and experience by the many unique and

interesting projects related to installation and maintenance of those AM, FM

and even some satellite facilities.

     He served as AMITRA President during 1987-1988.   AMITRA is the Association

of the Mexican Radio Engineers and Technicians.  Albert is looking forward to increasing

his personal development in the United States,  becoming more updated with

technology while continuing to serve the Radio Industry. 

     Albert also would like to make more friends within Chapter 105. 

What a pleasure to have someone like Albert as a member of Chapter 105.

             I feel like we have a new friend in Albert and that he is truly an asset to our chapter!!
