MINUTES OF CHAPTER 105 MEETING
March 13, 2000

      Danney Stanley chaired the meeting.  After calling for any old business,
the meeting moved into new business.
     Danney as Membership Chairman announced a "Free Trip to Mars". . .
Mars, Pa. that is, for the 2000 Pittsburgh 'Chapter 20 Regional SBE convention and
SBE National Meeting.  (This includes round trip for one, two nights accommodation
at the Sheridan Inn and free admission to SBE events, up to $500.00)  Additional
prizes include both digital Video and Audio tapes, books, cameras; soft sided
road cases and many more including a Palm IIIx Electronic Organizer.  Your name goes
into the drawing once for each new member.  Each recruiter will also receive $5.00
off his/her 2001 membership dues for each approved New Member that he/she
recruits up to $25.00 . . . March 1 - May 31.
     The new Beaumont Chapter was discussed with Chapter 105 giving full support
in their formation.  George Schank has been in contact with them and plans to
meet with them shortly.
     The SBE Cap-of-the-Month was awarded to Dough Frederikse of KLAT/KLTU  
who signed in on line 7.  Congratulations !!
     Danney, as Editor and Publisher of the Newsletter called for any articles to be
sent to him by email as soon as possible.
      The new certification from SBE National . .  .
          BROADCAST NETWORKING TECHNOLOGIST . . . was also discussed.
One member at the meeting having already been approved by Norvell or
Microsoft seemed eager to apply for that certification.
      A committee of Fred Morton, George Schank and Rick Jones   was formed
to act as an nominating committee for officers for the 2000-2001 year to be
held shortly after the NAB.
      Richard Gerlovich reported $1,499 balance in the chapter bank account.
No report has been given to this point by the committee appointed last month
to recommend how to use this money.  A certification study hall and resume'
posting as well as development of resume' classes have been previously suggested.
     In the absence of George Schank Program Chairman the Chapter has elected to
not have a luncheon meeting on the 2nd Tuesday in April due to the NAB.
George will be contacted to see the possibility of having an evening meeting around
the 26th or 27th.
     The meeting was adjourned at 12:20 PM.
